Sky News host Peta Credlin says Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s attack on One Nation Leader Pauline Hanson backfired spectacularly, helping drive a surge in donations and support. “Pauline Hanson is in the lead as the politician that more Australians want in charge than any other party leader,” Ms Credlin said. “Given how much Albanese hates Hanson and everything he thinks she stands for, this poll would be like pouring salt into an open wound for him and the political left. “They have invested almost three decades demonising Hanson, only for voters to now prefer her over anyone else. “When the Prime Minister intervened with that gaslighting jibe, the donation tally was around $1.5 million, and tonight it now stands at a whopping $4.1 million. Rather than kill off momentum, that sneer from the Prime Minister kicked it along.”
