The Riga Trial was one of the first major post-war proceedings to examine Nazi crimes committed in the Baltic states. Held in Latvia in 1946, the trial focused on senior German military and SS leaders, including Friedrich Jeckeln, one of Heinrich Himmler's most trusted commanders and the man responsible for organizing some of the worst crimes of the Holocaust. This documentary follows the events that led from Operation Barbarossa and the German occupation of Latvia to the crimes committed at Rumbula Forest, Biķernieki Forest, and across the occupied Baltic territories. The film explores how the German occupation transformed everyday life through persecution, forced labour, mass deportations, and systematic violence against civilians.
